Il documentario analizza il fenomeno Cabaret dalle origini Parigine ai tempi nostri direttamente dal racconto dei suoi protagonisti. Un excursus storico/artistico che ci mostrerà come il Cabaret abbia un andamento ciclico ed episodico. Nasce nell’underground con gli occhi della tigre e si istituzionalizza restando felino ma diventando un micio domestico. Per fare questo il documentario analizza il concetto stesso del ridere di cui il “comico” non rappresenta che una parte. Mostreremo la grande differenza che passa tra la risata usata come strumento e la risata usata come scopo, evidenziando le differenze tra Cabaret e Varietà, cioè tra chi fa ridere per raccontare e chi racconta per far ridere.
The documentary analyses the Cabaret phenomenon from its Parisian origins to the present time directly from the accounts of its protagonists. A historical/artistic excursus that will show us how Cabaret has a cyclical and episodic pattern. It is born in the underground with the eyes of the tiger and becomes Institutionalized by remaining feline but becoming a domestic kitty. To do this, the documentary analyses the very concept of laughter of which the comedian represents but a part. We will show the great difference that passes between laughter used as a tool and laughter used as a purpose, highlighting the differences between Cabaret and Variety, that is, between those who make people laugh to tell and those who tell to make people laugh.
